Queen Camilla is currently facing health challenges, as Buckingham Palace has announced that she is suffering from a chest infection.

This condition has prompted her to withdraw from all scheduled engagements for the week.

Duchess of Gloucester Steps In

To ensure that the royal duties continue, the Duchess of Gloucester will step in for Queen Camilla at the annual opening of the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey, which is set to take place this Thursday.

This substitution allows the event to proceed smoothly despite the Queen’s absence.

Reception for Athletes Canceled

In addition to the Field of Remembrance, Queen Camilla will also miss a reception at Buckingham Palace honoring Olympic and Paralympic athletes, an event hosted by her husband, King Charles III, on the same evening.

A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace shared that, “Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest.”

Hope for Recovery

Although Queen Camilla regrets having to cancel her engagements, she is hopeful for a quick recovery that will allow her to participate in this weekend’s Remembrance events as scheduled.

The Palace conveyed her apologies to anyone who may be disappointed by her absence.

Ongoing Care

Details surrounding the specifics of her illness and treatment have not been disclosed, but it is understood that the Queen is under medical supervision and is resting privately at home.

Buckingham Palace will provide further updates as they become available.
