COUNTRY CLUB MEMBERS DONATE R27K TO SIMON NDLOVU

Every month, the Bryanston Country Club holds a prize evening for its members. On Friday 28 January, Julian Thorrold and his table won R27 000.
Thorrold announced that his table agreed that if they won, they would donate the money to Simon Ndlovu who was retiring from the country club after working there as a waiter for 36 years.

“To say it was emotional is an understatement. What incredible generosity – this is what makes Bryanston Country Club so special,” the country club stated on its Facebook account.

SIMON NDLOVU’S HEARTFELT LETTER

In a heartfelt letter to the Bryanston Country Club members, Simon Ndlovu said it was a “great honour” to have worked at the club.

“I would like you all to know that goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes because for those who love with their heart and soul, there is no such thing as separation.”
“I have watched most of you grow as part of the Bryanston Country Club since I joined the club in 1985. The Bryanston Country Club will forever be my second home and the people will be my family forever.”

“Thank you for always being there to assist me and my family,” wrote Simon.

A MESSAGE FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER

Bryanston Country Club general manager Paul Leishman told Good Things Guy that the country club members were moved by Simon’s retirement speech.

“In the tough times everybody has been through in the past two years, people are looking for inspiration and signs of hope … Justin’s table gave that to us in bucket loads on Friday. Simon is such a worthy recipient of this generosity.”
