Brooklyn Beckham is showing that he’s not letting gossip about his strained relationship with his famous family get under his skin.
The 26-year-old, eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, revealed he’ll be missing Inter Miami’s clash in New York on Wednesday, shrugging off rumors of family tension.
He joined a star-studded Ryder Cup-style golf match at Bethpage Black, taking on A-Listers from Europe and the USA in a friendly competition.
Despite being just an hour away from his father’s co-owned soccer team, Brooklyn said he’d be returning to Los Angeles after the round.
Family Feud Rumors Continue
Rumors have swirled for months that Brooklyn and his wife, American actress Nicola Peltz, are not on speaking terms with his parents.
The couple recently renewed their vows without inviting the Beckhams, and the family hasn’t been photographed together since last Boxing Day.
Even recent celebrations, like his brother Romeo’s 23rd birthday, passed without Brooklyn joining in.
Yet the young Beckham insists he isn’t losing sleep over the speculation.
Staying Focused Amid Negative Talk
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Brooklyn explained how he handles the chatter about his personal life.
“People are always going to say negative things, but I have a very supportive wife,” he said.
“We just do our thing, keep our heads down, work, and stay happy.”
He added, “Everyone’s always going to say rubbish. I just try to play some golf with friends and enjoy myself—it’s good fun.”
Ryder Cup Fun Despite Tough Competition
At the celebrity Ryder Cup event, Brooklyn teamed up with former NBA star Toni Kukoc to face off against comedian Colin Jost and NFL legend Eli Manning.
Team Europe took a heavy loss, and Brooklyn admitted he faced some playful jeering from the New York crowd.
“I feel like they didn’t like me at all—but it was amazing,” he said.
“They gave me a bit of rubbish, but I kind of expected it being in New York and going against Eli. It was all laughs, and honestly, I had so much fun.”
A New Hobby and Busy Life
Despite only recently picking up golf, Brooklyn threw himself into the event, calling the experience “nerve-wracking but incredible.”
Outside the green, he has kept busy working as a model and photographer and running his hot sauce brand, Cloud 23—a nod to the number his father famously wore for Real Madrid and LA Galaxy.
He won’t be staying in New York for Inter Miami’s match, though. “I have to go back to Los Angeles,” he said.
“I left my wife with our four dogs, so I need to get back, help out, and get back to work.”
