When wrestling legend Hulk Hogan—real name Terry Bollea—passed away on July 24 at age 71, fans around the world were left mourning.
But in the days since, what began as a sad farewell has spiraled into a storm of suspicion, shocking claims, and deep family wounds.
Now, his daughter Brooke Hogan and long-time friend “Bubba the Love Sponge” are both questioning the official version of events—and pointing fingers in some unsettling directions.
Cremation Without Autopsy Raises Eyebrows
According to the Florida District Six Medical Examiner, Hogan died from cardiac arrest.
The report also mentioned leukemia and atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) as underlying health issues.
But despite the circumstances, no autopsy was performed. The lack of a post-mortem has left many asking—why not?
When Bubba the Love Sponge, a Tampa radio host and close former friend, posted an article questioning the rushed cremation and absence of an autopsy, Brooke responded with a simple but telling “exactly” on Instagram.
That’s when speculation began to pick up speed.
Bubba Suggests Foul Play Behind the Scenes
Bubba, whose real name is Todd Clem, didn’t hold back in his accusations.
He floated the idea that someone may have injected Hogan with something while he slept to trigger a heart attack.
He also questioned the timeline of events and why no deeper medical investigations were pursued—especially considering Hogan’s $40 to $50 million estate.
He even suggested that Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily, and her ties to Scientology could be a factor, hinting at darker possibilities behind the scenes.
What Really Happened the Day Hogan Died?
A report from the Tampa Bay Times claimed Hogan collapsed at home while doing therapy after returning from surgery.
Paramedics rushed him to Morton Plant Hospital and administered treatments for high potassium—often linked to kidney issues—and Narcan, which reverses opioid overdoses.
There’s no evidence Hogan overdosed, and medical staff reportedly gave those medications as precautionary measures based on his condition at the time.
Still, the lack of an autopsy left those closest to him with more questions than answers.
Police Say There Was No Suspicion
The Clearwater Police Department stated clearly that there were “no signs of foul play or suspicious activity,” which is why no autopsy was done.
The Pinellas County Medical Examiner’s Office backed that up, noting that a cremation request had already been submitted by July 31.
Hogan’s cremation is scheduled to take place at the Bay Area Crematory in Clearwater, although an exact date has not been confirmed.
The Complicated History Between Hogan and Bubba
The connection between Bubba and Hogan is, to put it mildly, complex.
Hogan was once the best man at Bubba’s wedding—but that friendship took a dark turn after a sex tape scandal in 2012 involving Hogan and Bubba’s then-wife, Heather.
That scandal led to a $140 million lawsuit against Gawker Media, which Hogan later settled for a lesser amount after Gawker filed for bankruptcy.
Despite everything, Bubba says he mourns Hogan’s loss deeply, admitting their problems were “mostly my fault.”
Brooke Hogan Speaks Out and Backs the Doubts
Brooke, Hogan’s daughter, joined Bubba’s Twitch stream to talk about her own unease.
She admitted that she found it strange no autopsy was performed and questioned how someone recovering from successful surgery could suddenly suffer a fatal heart attack.
She went further, casting doubt on Hogan’s leukemia diagnosis, claiming she had never heard of it before his death.
“The leukemia out of nowhere hits me as BS,” she said, openly emotional and visibly shaken.
Claims of Scientology, Marriage Pressure, and Fear
Brooke also opened up about her father’s relationship with Sky Daily, revealing that she had warned him not to marry her—partly due to concerns over Scientology.
Hogan reportedly once told Brooke he’d never marry again, but later changed his tune under what she described as pressure.
She shared a chilling quote from Hogan that stuck with her: “If I broke up with her, it’d be really bad.”
That vague but troubling statement raised red flags for Brooke and has stuck with her ever since.
Was Scientology a Factor?
Brooke said she started digging into Sky’s background and learned about her Scientology ties.
Although Sky had told them she left the religion, Brooke’s research led her to believe Sky was still “in good standing.”
She admitted she doesn’t know much about Scientology but found enough to make her feel uneasy.
Family Estrangement and the Pain Behind the Public Image
It’s important to note that Brooke had been estranged from both her parents for years prior to Hogan’s death.
She has since removed herself from his will.
Still, the pain in her voice during the interview made one thing clear—despite the distance, the loss hurt deeply, and the unanswered questions are only making things harder.
