Spurs on the Hunt for Full-Time Manager, Ryan Mason in Charge for Now
Following the departure of Antonio Conte, Tottenham Hotspur are still in search of a permanent manager.
Ryan Mason has been appointed interim manager until the end of the season after Cristian Stellini’s failed stint.
Mason oversaw a hard-fought draw against Manchester United in his second temporary spell and has expressed his interest in the job on a full-time basis.
Candidates for the Full-Time Job
Several candidates have been named for the full-time job, including Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann, Roberto De Zerbi from Brighton, and Arne Slot from Feyenoord.
Rodgers Back in the Frame?
Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has suggested that Brendan Rodgers could also be a contender for the role.
Rodgers left Leicester and is currently without a job.
Redknapp believes that it may be too early for Mason to take on the job and that someone like Nagelsmann or Rodgers would be a better fit.
Rodgers was previously approached by Spurs and declined the offer, but Redknapp thinks they may try again.
He praised Rodgers as a good manager and a personal favorite.
Commentary
Tottenham has been on the lookout for a permanent manager since sacking Jose Mourinho in April 2021.
Mason has a difficult task ahead of him, with several high-profile managers vying for the position.
Rodgers, in particular, would be an exciting appointment given his recent success with Leicester.
It remains to be seen whether the club will approach him again or go with another candidate.
