It’s not every day that a 20-year-old lights up the football world, but Orlando Pirates’ Relebohile Mofokeng is doing just that.

After a stellar season in South Africa, the young talent is now on the radar of major clubs across the globe — and the latest name to surface is none other than Brazilian powerhouse Fluminense FC.

A New Suitor Joins the Race

According to fresh reports, Fluminense has started monitoring Mofokeng, adding even more buzz to the growing transfer frenzy surrounding him.

While the Brazilian club hasn’t submitted an official offer just yet, their interest alone speaks volumes about how far Mofokeng’s profile has risen.

He’s already been linked with clubs in Israel, the Netherlands, and Saudi Arabia — and now South America is getting in on the action.

A Breakout Season That Turned Heads Worldwide

It’s not hard to see why so many clubs are circling.

Mofokeng’s 2024/2025 campaign with Orlando Pirates was nothing short of electric.

The young attacker was directly involved in 27 goals, with 12 goals and 15 assists across all competitions.

He turned up in the biggest moments too — including the high-stakes Soweto Derby and the MTN8 final — where he delivered game-changing performances.

Hailing from the well-respected School of Excellence, Mofokeng’s consistent brilliance also earned him a call-up to Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad, solidifying his status as one of the country’s brightest young football stars.

Pirates Have No Plans to Let Him Go Just Yet

Despite the international interest and swirling rumours, Orlando Pirates are holding on tight to their star man.

The club has included Mofokeng in their official 34-man squad for the upcoming 2025/2026 season under new head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.

That sends a pretty clear signal — they’re not planning on letting him go without a fight.

Recently, there were even reports of a R100 million bid from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.

But Pirates quickly shut that down as speculation, stating that no official offer has been made.

Will a Club Make an Offer Too Big to Refuse?

With the transfer window still wide open, the big question is whether any of the interested clubs — including Fluminense — will come forward with an offer Orlando Pirates simply can’t turn down.

For now, Mofokeng remains a Buccaneer, but that could change fast if the right deal comes in.
