Even Hollywood A-listers have their offbeat, human moments.
Over the weekend in Malibu, Brad Pitt, 61, was spotted in what fans might call an “awkward but relatable” moment while filming The Adventures of Cliff Booth.
Cameras captured the superstar apparently picking his teeth while leaning on a balcony during shooting.
Back in the Role of Cliff Booth
Pitt is reprising his role as Cliff Booth in the new project, a follow-up to Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 hit Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
This time, the spotlight is firmly on the stuntman character, who originally worked for actor Rick Dalton, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
Interestingly, DiCaprio’s name does not appear in the credits for this latest film, which IMDb describes as exploring more of Cliff Booth’s backstory in his new role as a Hollywood fixer.
A 1970s Vibe on Set
Pitt embraced the era of the film with a full-on 70s look: a midnight blue track jacket, jeans, aviator sunglasses, and Cliff’s signature long, beachy hair.
The new story picks up eight years after the original movie, according to ScreenRant, keeping fans firmly in the same nostalgic period.
Not Exactly a Sequel, But an Episode
While many may think of the project as a sequel, Pitt clarified it’s more of an “episode” focusing on Cliff Booth.
Speaking with Deadline in June, he explained that Tarantino wrote the story but chose not to direct it this time.
“My friend David Fincher stepped in to direct it,” Pitt said. “So we’re doing that for Netflix, starting in July. It should be really fun.”
Star-Studded Cast Joins the Fun
Alongside Pitt, the cast includes Timothy Olyphant, Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Scott Caan, and JB Tadena.
Fans can expect a mix of familiar faces and new dynamics as the story dives deeper into the life of the beloved stuntman.
Continuing Legacy from Awards to Filming
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood earned numerous awards and nominations, including multiple Oscars.
Pitt himself took home the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Cliff, cementing the character as one of Hollywood’s most memorable recent icons.
Filming Amid Personal Loss
Behind the scenes, Pitt has been navigating a personal tragedy.
His mother, Jane Etta Pitt, passed away last month at age 84. Two weeks later, he was photographed on set, with sources telling People that he remained professional despite the loss.
While he has not publicly commented further, he paid a quiet tribute to her back in June while promoting F1 on Today, blowing a kiss and saying, “To Jane Pitt. Love you, Mom.”
