Bodybuilder Attacks Innocent Teen in Cocktail Bar Brawl

Aimilios Xenos, a 29-year-old amateur boxer and bodybuilder, has narrowly avoided jail time after single-handedly attacking 19-year-old Ben Walsh and his group of friends during a brawl at a cocktail bar in Cheshire.

Xenos mistakenly accused Walsh of insulting and manhandling his mother following a family meal.

He pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm and was sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for two years.

He was also ordered to undertake 150 hours of unpaid work, complete 35 days of rehabilitation with the probation service, and pay £500 compensation to Walsh.

Xenos had been celebrating his birthday with his mother, Marguerita, and his girlfriend when he challenged the teenage group outside Savanah 19 in Culcheth, near Warrington, Cheshire.

The altercation occurred after he believed they had made derogatory comments about his family.

The attack intensified when Mrs. Xenos was struck as she tried to stop the fight.

Victim Suffered Serious Injuries

Following the attack, Walsh, an apprentice jointer, suffered a broken nose, a cut lip, a black eye, and a broken ankle.

Walsh had to give up playing football and delay completing his apprenticeship as a result of the injuries.

Walsh later told the police that he has lost his independence, he is scared, and he has never experienced anything like this before.

In mitigation, Xenos’ defense lawyer, Michelle Man, said that her client was out for a family meal and “was not looking for any trouble.”

She added that during the course of the evening, some comments were made, and Xenos went over to remonstrate, but it was a heated conversation, and everyone ended up on the floor.

JP Gillian Beckett stated that “this was an unprovoked and persistent attack. However, we feel that you have a chance of rehabilitation, and therefore we are not sending you to prison today.”

Repercussions of the Attack

Walsh was unable to continue with his activities and had to cancel a holiday.

He was also unable to return to the lower league football team due to the ankle injury.

He was worried as the defendant lives in the same area, and his parents were traumatized and worried about him going out.
