Starz has announced the opening date and published an official teaser for Season 2 of its smash drama series BMF.
The second season will premiere on the network’s app at midnight on Friday, January 6, followed by its linear launch at 8 p.m. ET/PT in the United States and Canada.
Based on a true story, BMF traces the rise to stardom of the Flenory brothers in 1980s Detroit. Demetrius Flenory “Big Meech” (Demetrius Flenory Jr.) and Terry Flenory “Southwest Tee” (Da’Vinchi) ascended from the depths of poverty in Detroit while navigating the war on drugs to become cultural game changers in hip-hop.
In Season 2, the Flenory brothers will continue to seek the American Dream as they attempt to construct a better life in a system rigged against them. At home and on the street, the universal themes of family, faith, and loyalty are explored. The brothers attempt to subvert the government and grow BMF into a multinational empire.
Russell Hornsby, Michole Briana White, Myles Truitt, Steve Harris, Kelly Hu, La La Anthony, Arkeisha “Kash Doll” Knight, Snoop Dogg, Leslie Jones, Christine Horn, Sydney Mitchell, Rayan Lawrence, and Seriyah also appear in the series.
In Season 2, Mo’Nique will make her series debut as a guest star. Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee will also make a cameo appearance throughout this season.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s G-Unit film and television, in partnership with Lionsgate Television, and Randy Huggins serve as executive producers for STARZ’s BMF. Anne Clements, Heather Zuhlke, and Anthony Wilson also serve as executive producers. Kathryn Tyus-Adair, Senior Vice President of Original Programming for Starz, and Erin Conroy, Senior Vice President of Original Programming for Lionsgate Television, supervise BMF on their respective networks.
