Blitzboks Prepare to Defend Their HSBC SVNS Title as Cape Town Prepares for a Two-Day Rugby and Festival Extravaganza

Cape Town is about to turn up the energy as the world champion Blitzboks prepare to defend their HSBC SVNS title in the Mother City this December.

But this isn’t just about rugby – it’s the city’s biggest party, where thrilling sevens action meets live entertainment, music, and a festival vibe that kicks off the unofficial start of South Africa’s summer.

Early Bird Perks and Family-Friendly Offers

Fans are in for some special treats this year.

The first 500 supporters to snap up R350 tickets in the Party Stand – where fancy dress is the norm – will receive a free drink voucher.

Families aren’t left out either: a full-day ticket for four costs just R750, with reserved seating in blocks 105 to 112, making it easier for everyone to soak up the atmosphere.

Tickets go on sale at 09h00 this Friday exclusively via Ticketmaster.co.za.

With prices starting from R250 and topping out at only R600 for the best seats, this event promises sun, sound, and sevens rugby all in one package.

Action-Packed Tournament on the Weekend of 6-7 December

The 2025 HSBC SVNS Cape Town will span two days, featuring the Blitzboks alongside seven men’s and eight women’s teams in a revamped series format that leaves no room for mistakes.

Only the top two teams from each pool will advance to the semi-finals, guaranteeing edge-of-your-seat action from start to finish.

Last year, the Blitzboks lifted the Cape Town title before clinching the HSBC SVNS World Championship crown in Los Angeles in May, and fans are hoping for another unforgettable performance on home soil.

More Than Just Rugby

“This tournament is about more than rugby,” said SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer, after World Rugby confirmed Cape Town as a host city for the next three years.

“Fans will enjoy high-octane rugby alongside live entertainment, music, food, and culture.

It’s the ultimate blend of sport and lifestyle, making HSBC SVNS Cape Town one of the most exciting events in the country.”

Ticket Options and Pricing

To celebrate Cape Town as the home of sevens for the next three years, tickets have been competitively priced per person per day:
