Blake Lively isn’t just a famous actress right now—she’s also gearing up for a serious courtroom battle.
Yesterday in New York, she showed up for a deposition surrounded by a strong support crew, including her sister, best friend Robyn, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and a team of eight lawyers.
The 37-year-old star is preparing to take on her former co-star Justin Baldoni in court, accusing him of sexual harassment on the set of This Ends With Us and claiming his PR team launched a smear campaign against her afterward.
The Support Team Standing Strong
Blake didn’t come alone. Alongside her were family and close friends ready to back her through what promises to be a grueling legal process.
Her older half-sister Robyn, who’s also an actress, was there, as was her husband Ryan Reynolds—well known both for his acting chops and his steady presence in Blake’s life.
Although they were there when Blake arrived, none of them were in the room during the deposition itself.
A Friendship on Pause with Taylor Swift
Notably absent from the scene was Blake’s longtime friend Taylor Swift.
Rumors have swirled that the two haven’t spoken for months.
Swift, who is godmother to three of Blake’s four children, reportedly feels frustrated and upset about being dragged into this legal drama, especially after being asked to hand over text messages between herself and Blake.
The friendship once seemed ironclad—with Swift even mentioned as one of Blake’s “dragons” in a message to Baldoni, referring to people who could help influence the creative direction of the film.
Blake’s Calm and Confident Appearance
Witnesses described Blake as composed and confident as she arrived at the AXA building on 7th Avenue, where her lawyers’ offices are located.
She dressed casually yet smartly for the long day of questioning—black jeans, a black waistcoat, and a soft pale blue cardigan.
The examination was led by Baldoni’s high-profile lawyer Bryan Freedman, known for his tough approach.
What’s at the Heart of the Case
Blake’s lawsuit claims that during filming, Baldoni sexually harassed her, getting physically close and making inappropriate comments that no one else on set noticed because microphones were supposedly off.
However, later video evidence showed that microphones were on, and the two were chatting comfortably about their spouses during the scene.
Her claim that Baldoni’s team ran a coordinated negative media campaign against her has also been challenged.
Baldoni’s side presented documents suggesting that the texts Blake relied on were “doctored” or taken out of context.
Legal Setbacks and Victories
Earlier in the case, Blake faced a blow when a New York judge dismissed her emotional distress claim because she refused to release medical records.
But just last month, she celebrated a big win when the judge dismissed almost all of Baldoni’s $400 million countersuit against her and Ryan Reynolds.
More depositions are scheduled as the case builds toward a trial set for next March.
The Battle Over Media Narratives
Blake’s legal team has taken a wide-reaching step by subpoenaing 107 content creators who posted negative stories about her.
They argue these posts were part of a coordinated campaign against Blake.
But the creators defend themselves, saying the stories emerged naturally from Blake’s behavior during the film’s press tour and her previous public appearances, where some say she developed a reputation as a “mean girl.”
