The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor says it is dangerous to work for God without knowing Jesus Christ.
In a sermon at Saint Mary’s Parish Umuomaku, Orumba South Local Government Area during a service of confirmation and admission into Women’s and girls’ Guild as Well as Anglican Men’s fellowship for all the parishes under Umhchu Archdeaconry, Bishop Ezeofor maintained that following Jesus Christ means obeying the God’s commandments despite daunting challenges.
He described sin as major impediment to the growth of any Christian and urged Christians to always live lives that will be in conformity with the image of Christ.
Bishop Ezeofor who said that a Christian is one who is producing fruit for Christ, charged all faithful to accept Christ who is a precious gift from God as their Lord and personal saviour.
In their various remarks, the Archdeacon of Umuchu Archdeaconry, Venerable innocent Azubike and Vicar of Saint Mary’s Parish Umuomaku, Reverend Davidson Okoye charged Christians to always embark on those programmes that will promote peaceful coexistence among the people.
Seventy-six candidates received the sacrament of confirmation, nineteen girls admitted into the Girls Guild, and thirty-three women into Women’s Guild.
Eighteen Men were admitted into the Anglican Men’s fellowship during the service which was facilitated by Reverends Canon Ikechukwu Okonisa, Tony Okeke and Thank God Onwuka respectively.
Mr. Sunday Mmaduakor and Mrs. Peace Ezeanyagu who were admitted into Anglican Men’s fellowship and Women’s Guild respectively promised to use their new positions to win souls for Christ.
