Despite recent claims that he’s been receiving numerous threats, former Minister of Police, Bheki Cele, has been spotted casually enjoying life post-retirement.

The 72-year-old politician stepped down from his role following last year’s national elections and is now embracing a quieter, more laid-back lifestyle.

In a lighthearted TikTok video, Bheki Cele was seen walking down a street in Umhlanga Village, a popular area.

The camera caught him in a casual outfit, including his signature fedora.

The woman filming the video called out to him, and he smiled and waved back, showing no sign of concern.

This sighting comes just weeks after another incident where Cele was spotted standing in line at a Chicken Licken restaurant.

On both occasions, he was alone, further emphasizing his relaxed post-ministerial life.

Additionally, Cele was recently seen attending the ANC’s birthday celebrations in Cape Town, where he was filmed dancing with his wife, Thembeka Ngcobo.

Facing Threats and Break-Ins

While it seems like Bheki Cele is adjusting well to his retirement, he recently opened up about some troubling experiences.

In an interview with SABC, he shared that since stepping down from his position, he has been receiving several threats.

He revealed that he’s been followed on multiple occasions and that his home was recently burgled.

“I’ve reported some of these incidents to the police,” Cele said.

“I’ve seen the cars following me and informed the provincial commissioner, who even sent officers to my house at 1 a.m. after a break-in.

Some items were stolen.”

Despite these unsettling experiences, Cele remains unfazed.

“I’m not scared of anybody, and I wasn’t when I was a minister either.

This job comes with its risks, but some of us are prepared for it,” he said, demonstrating his characteristic confidence.
