“BeGreen Africa Program Invites Entrepreneurs From Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, and Kenya to Submit Green Business Ideas Before the March Deadline”

The BeGreen Africa Program offers a unique opportunity for young entrepreneurs across multiple African countries to bring their green business ideas to life.

This initiative is open to entrepreneurs in Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa with businesses focused on environmental sustainability.

Additionally, waste management businesses in Kenya are also eligible to apply.

To qualify, businesses must not be older than five years, and applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.

Eligibility Criteria

The BeGreen Africa Program is open to citizens of Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, and Kenya, provided they are 18 years or older.

To apply, candidates must submit a government-issued ID to verify their age.

The program is designed for green business ideas, meaning applicants must have a for-profit business concept that aligns with environmental sustainability.

The business must also be original, and its purpose must be legal and ethical.

Program Stages

Verification and Onboarding

Once applicants apply, they go through a verification process.

This involves submitting necessary documents that allow the program promoters to assess the business’s status and verify the applicant’s identity.

If an applicant fails to meet these verification requirements, they will be removed from the program and notified via email.

Those who pass verification will be enrolled in the TEF Business Management Training program.

Unsuccessful applicants will be directed to the TEF General Business Training on TEFConnect and can reapply for other programs in the future.

Business Plan Preparation and Submission

After completing the TEF Business Management Training program, participants will receive a template to help them prepare their business plans.

These plans will be reviewed and assessed for feasibility and sustainability.

Business plans must be submitted by the given deadline for applicants to progress to the next stage.

Those who score the highest will be invited to the Pitching Competition.

Failure to complete this step or submit a business plan on time will result in removal from the program.

Pitching Competition

The participants who score the highest after submitting their business plans will move on to the Pitching Competition.

In this stage, they will pitch their business plans either in person or by submitting a video to the program promoters.

The top performers from the Pitching Competition will be selected based on a set of predefined criteria and will be eligible to receive Seed Capital.

Those who are not selected will be notified and categorized as TEF Trainees, with the opportunity to reapply for future programs.

Seed Capital Disbursement

Successful participants in the Pitching Competition will be notified via email and will receive Seed Capital to help launch their business.

This capital will be disbursed through an electronic transfer to the entrepreneur’s business bank account.

Please note that banking fees and other charges may apply, and the amount received may be slightly less than the US$5,000 equivalent.

For those funded by program partners, the seed capital amount will align with the partner’s commitments.

Deadline and Application

The deadline for applications is March 1st, 2025.

Interested entrepreneurs should apply before this date to be considered for the program.
