The Banyana Banyana team has been selected by South Africa’s head coach Desiree Ellis to take against Brazil.

The majority of the 23-member group includes regulars for the national team, with two significant outliers.

Noko Matlou, who is eligible for selection, will stay in Spain; the only other foreign-based defenders to get a call from Desiree Ellis are Lebohang Ramalepe and Karabo Dhlamini.

Thembi Kgatlana’s early withdrawal from the Wafcon due to injury prevents her from playing versus Brazil.

Ellis is excited to play Brazil in order to assist her side prepare for the Women’s World Cup in 2023.

On September 2 and 5, Banyana Banyana will play two friendly matches against Brazil, with the first game taking place at Orlando Stadium.
