“Discipline is vital, as I constantly remind them. I dislike players who consume alcohol and tobacco for numerous reasons.

“I personally do not attend parties at all. Possibly, if something is occurring at home, I will merely show up for an hour and then leave for obvious reasons.

“I’m not suggesting that they shouldn’t socialize, but a complete footballer must know what he wants.

“Gone are the days when a professional player would have 20 pals; you must know what you want, who you associate with, who you trust and who you don’t, who you want to work with, and how to enhance your game.

“There is no longer time to have 20 pals; you go to Soweto and then to Sandton.”

“You must prioritize yourself,” Zwane added.

Zwane elaborated on how Amakhosi managed the players’ fitness and conduct over the December holiday break, a period when local players frequently indulge in excessive drink and unhealthy food.

“The FIFA World Cup break was always going to be challenging for us because this is the holiday season,” he continued.

“Many individuals are considering attending and having fun.

“We have to assert that this is how we’re going to conduct business.

“And if we discover out you did something wrong, you’re out; we prioritize those who want it the most.”

“Therefore, I assert that everything boils down to one thing: discipline. A player’s sacrifices reveal a great deal of dedication and sacrifice.

“Fortuitously, the majority of our males come from the development, and we’re also rather strict.

The Soweto-born coach continued, “They are very courteous because we have a philosophy and a method of doing things with regard to respect.”
