At a rave on a West Australian beach, a woman in her 30s was beaten up before being sexually attacked.

Police are investigating a ‘Doof Doof’ incident on the Sand Dunes in Cable Beach after a woman was struck many times by an unknown male in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Before the attacker sexually abused her, she was knocked to the ground. After assaulting the woman, the man fled the rave on foot.

He is characterized as having dark skin, a thin physique, and standing around 177cm tall.

The woman was rushed to Broome Hospital, where she is being treated for severe head injuries.

The beach party drew up to 200 individuals, and WA Police are requesting everyone who was there to come forward if they have any information about the offender.
