Arsenal Football Club has announced that it will face Manchester United on Saturday, July 22 at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The Gunners spent last summer in the US, playing against teams such as Everton, Orlando City and Chelsea as part of their Florida Cup tour.
However, they have never played Manchester United in the US.
More pre-season matches to be announced
Arsenal has also scheduled a match with the MLS All-Stars, which will take place three days earlier on July 19 at Washington DC’s Audi Field.
Further matches are expected to be announced in due course as part of Arsenal’s pre-season tour.
Edu, Arsenal’s sporting director, said: “The plans for pre-season are making good progress, with the match against Manchester United in New York being another important part of our preparations.
Playing against strong opposition in a great stadium in front of so many of our supporters in New York will provide Mikel [Arteta] and the squad with a strong test and great experience ahead of the new season.”
