It’s not every day that you get acting tips from a Hollywood superstar — or a Zoom call from a boxing legend.
But for a group of aspiring young actors in Watford, that’s exactly what happened, thanks to a heartwarming collaboration between Anthony Joshua and Michael B. Jordan.
Surprise Guests, Big Dreams
Through his charity, Clean Herts Community (CHC), Joshua helped pull off a masterclass moment.
Even though the two-time heavyweight champ couldn’t be there in person — he’s currently in Nigeria training — he joined virtually to greet the students and build up some suspense for what came next.
As AJ wrapped up his chat, he hinted that a surprise was on the way.
Moments later, in walked none other than Creed star Michael B. Jordan — and the room instantly erupted.
Shouts of excitement, clapping, and the sound of phones snapping photos filled the air. It was pure joy.
Sharing Wisdom from the Big Screen
Jordan didn’t come alone. He brought fellow actor Jack O’Connell along, and together they gave the young actors some real gems of advice.
They talked about their journeys, shared what goes on behind the scenes of big films, and offered one-on-one guidance to help these budding performers improve their skills.
From Workshop to Red Carpet
As if the workshop wasn’t enough, the surprise kept getting better.
The young actors were later invited to attend the red carpet premiere of Sinners, the latest movie starring Jordan and O’Connell, held at Leicester Square in London.
From a classroom in Watford to a premiere in the heart of the city — talk about a plot twist!
Teamwork Behind the Scenes
Joshua later posted a clip of the event, sharing the behind-the-scenes effort that went into making the day unforgettable.
In a tweet, he wrote:
“We’ve been working on a surprise with @WarnerBrosUK for all our aspiring @cleanhertsco actors, and yesterday it all came together!!!
They met with director Ryan Coogler & stars Michael B Jordan & Jack O’Connell of the Sinners Movie after their acting workshop!”
CHC’s Mission: Uplifting Youth in Watford
This acting workshop is just one of the many initiatives CHC has rolled out to uplift and inspire local youth.
From sports and science to cooking and now acting, the charity has been creating real-life opportunities that connect young people with mentors, skills, and role models.
Not long ago, CHC even partnered with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to bring Watford teens into the mix during the launch of his festive action movie Red One.
What’s Next for Anthony Joshua?
While he’s clearly passionate about his hometown and helping the next generation, Anthony Joshua is still laser-focused on his boxing career.
He’s currently training in Nigeria, staying quiet but committed after his recent bout with Daniel Dubois.
Fans are watching closely, waiting to see when he’ll step back into the ring.
Big things are coming — both inside and outside the ropes.
