In Melbourne’s Mornington Peninsula, an angry cyclist confronted a car passenger after he allegedly called his fellow cyclist a ‘bike wer‘.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning in Rye, and was captured on video and posted on TikTok by the young passenger.
The cyclist can be seen approaching the car, and asking the man filming to leave. As the car passenger laughed, the cyclist responded with a gesture questioning the size of his manhood.
In the video caption, it is stated that the cyclist was upset about being called a ‘bike wer.’
At the beginning of the video, the passenger and another person can be heard laughing before the cyclist approaches the car.
The cameraman quickly turns the camera down towards his lap, saying “Oh s***, his mate’s here”.
The cyclist then knocks on the side of the car to get the passenger’s attention. He then proceeds to question the passenger’s courage, asking “Where’s your balls now?” and suggesting they step outside.
The cyclist continues his confrontation, asking the passenger to leave the car.
The passenger responds by telling the cyclist to “go.” The cyclist then insults the passenger’s manhood, making an inch-sized gesture with his fingers.
The cyclist then rides away from the car as the passenger laughs.
Social media users were quick to comment on the video, with some criticizing the passenger for talking tough from behind a locked car window.
Others expressed support for the passenger and even suggested he should have stolen the cyclist’s bike or physically attacked him.
The incident underscores the tension that can arise between cyclists and drivers on the road, and the importance of mutual respect and understanding.
It is unclear if any further action will be taken as a result of the altercation.
