It is a somber day for many Mamelodi Sundowns supporters as the news breaks that Andile Jali will be leaving the team.
After reported conflicts with coach Rhulani Mokwena, the emergence of Teboho Mokoena, and incidents involving alcohol, the 33-year-old Jali and Sundowns have come to the end of their journey together.
According to the player’s agent, Mike Makaab, the two parties are currently working on finalizing the details of their mutual termination.
This process is expected to be completed within the week, and Jali will depart on positive and amicable terms, as stated by Makaab during an interview with SABC’s Mazola Molefe.
Looking ahead, Makaab expressed that Jali is eager to continue playing and believes he has at least two more years of football in him.
Last year, Jali delivered exceptional performances and remained consistent during the initial months of this season.
However, as circumstances can change, the agent acknowledged that they will need to adapt accordingly.
In preparation for the next chapter, Jali is currently working with a personal trainer to maintain his fitness and will soon begin preparing for the upcoming preseason.
Makaab shared his belief that Jali is the best No.6 player in the country, underscoring his optimism for the future.
As the negotiations with Sundowns continue, both parties aim to resolve the matter respectfully.
Jali’s departure marks a significant transition in his career, and he is motivated for the challenges that lie ahead.
The football community eagerly anticipates the next steps for this talented player.
