Anambra State Govt Restates Sustained Partnership With EU, WHO

Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala has commended the European Union and World Health Organization for their continued partnership with the State Government in the healthcare sector.

Dr Okpala who made the commendation at the conclusion of stakeholder’s meeting in Awka, explained that the meeting would help to address issues on investment cases and the need to allocate more funds to the health sector which would enable government to address emerging critical health issues.

The Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Linus Nwankwo commended the participants for their contributions during the meeting noting that the Health Ministry is one of the critical ministries that needs continuous attention and assured that Governor Willie Obiano’s administration would continue to provide an enabling environment for European Union and World Health Organization and other partners in the state.

Also speaking, Head Planning, Research and Statistics Mrs Edith Nwachukwu said that the objective of the meeting was centered on issues about making funds available for health expenditures.
