Anambra New CP Olofu Meets With Traditional Rulers Seeks Promotion Of National Interest, Public Peace

The new Anambra state Commissioner of Police, Mr Tony Olofu, has urged traditional rulers in the state to promote national interest and enhance public peace and safety.

The Commissioner who was addressing the state Council of traditional rulers at the Glovernment House, Awka, told the monarchs to use their positions to promote national identity and enhance public peace and safety in the state.

The CP in seeking their cooperation, charged them to use their positions to open channel of communications with the people on issues of national interest.

The Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe while speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers, thanked the Commissioner of Police and pledged their support to the command and other security agencies in the State.

Other traditional rulers in attendance during the meeting were, Igwe Kenneth Orizu of Nnewi, Sunday Okafor of Okpuno, Eze Chuma Onyia of Odekpe, Igwe Emmanuel Nnabuife of Isseke, Peter Anugwu of Mbaukwu, Eze Dr. Michael Idigo of Aguleri, among others.
