Anambra Govt Mourns Renowned Publisher Abdulaziz Ude

The people and Government of Anambra State have received with sadness the news of the death of Chief Abdulaziz Ude.

Chief Ude was until his death, an internationally renowned publisher, intellectual, art lover, pan Africanist, entrepreneur and philanthropist from Abor, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, who played a significant part in modern Igbo history.

A statement signed by the Anambra State Commissioner for Information & Public Enlightenment, Mr. C. Don Adinuba said that he died in his late eighties, and had been buried in his hometown, in line with the Islamic injunction.

According to the statement, Chief Ude, who published Chinua Achebe’s classic, Things Fall Apart, in the United States during the Nigerian Civil War of 1967-70, also contributed significantly to the creation of Anambra, Enugu, Delta and Ebonyi States.
