The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has extended the allotted time frame of voting for the Anambra State governship election from 8am to 4pm.
In a press statement made available to newsmen in Awka, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Nkwachukwu Orji, said the extension became necessary to ensure that all eligible voter participated in the exercise.
He acknowledged that it had challenges of late withdrawal by some adhoc staff as well as transporters who backed out after collecting mobilisation fees.
The Commission says voting will also continue tomorrow, Sunday, in areas where the Bi Modal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS recorded sustained failure.
