Anambra 2021:APC faults results in specific polling units

The Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Basil Ejidike, has faulted results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,in some polling units and wards across the state.

Addressing a news conference in Awka, Chief Ejidike argued that results collated by its agents were different from those announced by the electoral body.

He specifically mentioned areas where either different results were announced or elections were not held.

This includes Ogidi, Uke and Obosi,Idemmili LGA, Akili Ozizo, Ogbaru LGA, Bridge Head Ward 1,Onitsha South LGA and parts of Orumba North and South ,  Anambra East, Ayamelum, Nnewi South.

He made it clear that the party never called for cancellation of the election as it was yet to be concluded, but to drew INEC’s attention to observed shortcomings.

“We are not calling for cancellation as reported by a section of the media because the exercise is still ongoing.

We had big hopes of preparedness by INEC, but we noticed a big lapses across the state.


He stated his regrets about the malfunctioning of the Bi Modal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, in most polling units across the state.

Saying this shortcoming disenfranchised thousands of eligible voters and called for improved system by the electoral body.
