Ana Navarro jokes about deportation while introducing Kamala Harris book tour stop in Miami during The View appearance

Ana Navarro couldn’t resist making a joke while promoting an upcoming event with Kamala Harris in Miami.

During Harris’ appearance on The View, Navarro quipped, “If you haven’t been deported yet, come see us,” referring to the ex-vice president’s upcoming book tour stop.

The comment drew laughter from the panel, the audience, and even Harris herself—though the former Democratic candidate also looked stunned, mouthing to Navarro, “Oh, that’s awful.”

Harris then teased back in her trademark cackle, suggesting that Navarro might not even keep her role as moderator, joking, “Maybe or maybe not she’ll be moderating.”

Harris Opens Up About Her 2024 Election Loss

Beyond the laughs, the conversation took a more serious turn. Harris reflected on the emotional toll of losing the 2024 election to Donald Trump.

She admitted the night of her loss felt devastating.

“That night I grieved in a way that I have not since my mother died,” Harris shared.

“The pain was not about losing a race—it was about knowing what it would mean for the country.”

Why She Thinks She Lost

Harris also gave her perspective on why her campaign fell short. In her view, the biggest issue was time.

“There are many factors that played into the outcome, but one of the biggest was that we just didn’t have enough time,” she explained.

Some political commentators have argued that her infamous remark during the campaign—that she wouldn’t do anything differently from President Joe Biden—hurt her chances.

Harris, however, doesn’t see that as the moment that cost her the presidency.

“I’m a loyal person, and I didn’t fully appreciate how much people wanted to hear the differences between me and President Biden,” she said.

“I thought it was obvious, but I didn’t want to present it in a way that sounded like a criticism.”

A Broadcasting Clash Frustrates Viewers

Not everything went smoothly with her appearance. Fans of The View were left annoyed when ABC interrupted the program during its first 10 minutes to air Donald Trump’s speech at the UN General Assembly in New York.

Viewers took to social media to demand the network return to Harris’ interview with the panel, which included Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, and Alyssa Farrah Griffin.

Fortunately, when the show returned at 11:10 a.m., Harris had not yet joined the hosts on stage—meaning fans didn’t miss her long-awaited entrance.

Wrapping Up the Tour with Miami Spotlight

Harris’ appearance tied into the release of her new book, 107 Days, which officially hit shelves Tuesday.

The Miami stop on November 20 will mark the final event of her nationwide tour, with Navarro set—at least for now—to moderate the conversation.
