The CAF Organising Committee for Interclub Competitions has postponed the CAF Champions League Group A fixture between Egypt’s Al Ahly and Sudan’s Al Merrikh.
The match was initially scheduled for the weekend of 11-12 February 2022, but will now be played on 5 March 2022 at 21:00 (SA time) in Cairo.
The move was necessitated by Al Ahly’s participation in the FIFA Club World Cup.
While the rest of this season’s CAF Champions League group stages matches will kick off on 11 February, Al Ahly will be hoping to feature in the final of the Club World Cup that same weekend.
Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly side will play Mexico’s Monterrey in the Club World Cup second round on Saturday, 5 February at 18:30 SA time.
