The National Chairman of All Grand Alliance Party (AGAP) Engr. Okey Chikwendu has said a capital No to the new petroleum pump price increment at this time when Nigeria is just recovering from Covid 19 and the #Endsars crisis that affected businesses all over the nation.
Okey said the hardship is too much for Nigerians to bear at this period of time, and is unacceptable to the AGAP Party. He noted that inflation of footstuff, transportation fare and prices of ther commodities will defiitely follow an increase in fuel pump price.
AGAP is therefore calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to reverse the price increment with immediate effect, if he really loves this country and its citizens.
The National Chairman who spoke out his mind to one of his State chairman in Lagos said AGAP will not accept the new pump price increment. He said Lagos is a peculiar state that will be badly affected by the increment because of the population.
State chairman of Lagos chapter of AGAP, Prince Adewale Samson said “the Federal Government who could not pay the common Minimum wage of N30, 000 is now increasing fuel price above 200 Naira, where do you want us to get money and buy fuel? You did not give us regular electricity, where do you expect us to get money to fuel our Generator set at home and business environment?” Samson Laments bitterly.
Samson said the federal government should copy other countries that are giving grants to help citizens because of the Covid 19 pandemic. He said though rumour has it that the federal government is also giving out such grants, he has not seen it.
