Despite their defeat to the All Blacks at Ellis Park on Saturday, the Springboks have maintained their third-place position in the World Rugby standings.
The All Blacks avenged their loss in Mbombela seven days before by defeating the world champion Springboks 35-23 in Johannesburg.
The Springboks dropped 1.63 points while the All Blacks gained the same amount, narrowing the difference between the two rugby powerhouses to only 0.02 points.
The All Blacks regained fourth place, displacing England, who fell to fifth.
In the other Rugby Championship match on Saturday, Argentina defeated the Wallabies 48-17.
As a consequence, Australia fell to seventh while Argentina remained in ninth place.
