In an industry that’s no stranger to controversy, one of its most influential figures—Tyler Perry—is now facing serious legal allegations.

A new lawsuit has named the media mogul in a $260 million case, accusing him of sexual harassment.

The Actor Behind the Lawsuit Speaks Out

Actor Derek Dixon is the man behind the claims.

According to court documents obtained by People, Dixon says he first met Perry back in September 2019.

At the time, he was reportedly lined up to appear in two of Perry’s BET shows: Ruthless and The Oval.

From there, Dixon alleges that events took a turn—though specific details of his accusations haven’t been fully revealed yet in public court filings.

Tyler Perry’s Legal Team Calls It a “Scam”

Perry’s team is not holding back in its response.

His attorney, Matthew Boyd, came out strongly against the allegations, labeling the lawsuit as nothing more than “a scam.”

Boyd made it clear that Perry has no intention of being intimidated or blackmailed.

“He will not be shaken down,” Boyd said in a statement, adding that they are confident these “fabricated claims of harassment” will ultimately fail in court.

Reps Stay Silent Amid Ongoing Legal Battle

So far, Tyler Perry’s personal representatives have not issued any public statements in response to the lawsuit.

According to DailyMail.com, requests for comment have been made, but no replies have been received at the time of publishing.

The Broader Conversation on Accountability

Although the case is still in its early stages, it adds to the ongoing conversation in Hollywood around power dynamics and accountability.

Whether Perry is found liable or not, the situation is drawing public attention because of his enormous influence across TV, film, and media.
