About 40 people feared dead in a stampede during a church programme in PH, Rivers State

The stampede occurred early Saturday morning when a mob of people pushed their way into the Polo Club in Port Harcourt, where a church named Kings Assembly was having an annual “Shop for Free” program.

According to reports, members of the public attempted to force their way through the gate as early as 6:30 a.m., resulting in a rush and the deaths.

Video shows some of the victims of the stampede on the floor as doctors and nurses at the Military Hospital, Port Harcourt, are trying their best to attend to them and save as many people as possible.
