Abandoned Identical Twins In Kebbi State Rescued And Faring Well

In the first quarter of the Year 2020 during the first wave of covid 19 lockdown, two freshly born male identical twins were abandoned behind Oando Filling Station at Anguwar Gesse 3 Birnin Kebbi.

On hearing the news Her Excellency Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu sent a delegation made up of Hon. Zahrau Wali the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Development, her P.A Haj. Balkisu Maiahi and Hajiya Zainab Badamasi Kangiwa on a rescue mission.


The delegates met the twins at the residence of Hakimi Umar Farouk Hamisu who decided to adopt the twin boys. His wife who was breastfeeding her own son at the time, took on the two boys and continued breastfeeding them.

On Saturday 20th February 2021, Her Excellency Dr Bagudu in company of the same team who has been monitoring the children’s growth and wellbeing received the family in the State Government House. She thanked Mr. Umar Hamisu & his wife for their act of kindness and offered her prayer; while calling on the people of Kebbi to emulate such acts.
