Abaji Council: Court case stops declaration of winner

The Returning Officer for Abaji Area Council election held on 12 February 2022, Professor Gabriel Mordi has reserved the declaration of the winner of the Saturday poll pending the outcome of Supreme Court judgement on the real candidate of a particular political party.

Professor Mordi who read out the total scores for All the political parties involved in the election says though the All Progressives Congress APC scored the highest votes, they could not be declared winner without a party candidate for the election.

Mordi says the winner will be announced after the determination of the case before the Supreme court in Abuja.
