A pair of earthquakes shake San Bernardino as early morning tremors ripple across Southern California

Residents of San Bernardino, California, woke up to a bit of a jolt on Monday morning when two earthquakes struck within minutes of each other.

While no damage was immediately reported, the tremors were strong enough to be felt across several nearby cities.

Two Quakes Hit Just Minutes Apart

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the first earthquake struck at 9:44 a.m. local time with a preliminary magnitude of 3.5.

Just four minutes later, at 9:48 a.m., a second quake followed, registering a magnitude of 3.0.

Both quakes originated about three miles north-northeast of San Bernardino, at depths of more than four miles.

Who Felt the Tremors?

The 3.5-magnitude quake was felt in several surrounding areas, including Ontario, Victorville, Hesperia, and Riverside.

Reports also came in from as far as Inglewood, Redondo Beach, Palm Springs, Huntington Beach, and even northern San Diego County.

Some residents quickly took to social media to share their experiences.

“Felt both!” one X user posted. Others, however, barely noticed the tremors at all.

“Hell, I’m IN San Bernardino – and I needed social media to tell me there was an earthquake,” another user joked.

No Major Damage Reported

Despite the quakes being widely felt, there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

Californians, accustomed to frequent seismic activity, appeared to take the event in stride.

Given the state’s history with larger quakes, some residents shrugged off the morning’s tremors as just another day in earthquake-prone California.

This is a developing story, and updates will follow as more information becomes available.
