The already enormous Powerball prize continues to expand.
The estimated $700 million pot of gold that was up for grabs in Wednesday night’s drawing, which was already the biggest of the year, was not won. Therefore, Saturday night’s grand prize will be at least $800 million, according to Powerball officials. The number may increase as more and more tickets are purchased.
Powerball jackpot winners have the option of receiving their reward in a single sum, which, if won on Saturday, would equal to an estimated $383.7 million in cash value, or as an annuity. This option distributes the entire jackpot amount over about thirty years. All of this would be before to taxation.
The winning numbers for Wednesday night were 19, 36, 37, 46, 56, and a Powerball of 24.
