Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will be looking to extend their lead atop the Hollywoodbets Super League when they host Tsunami Queens on Wednesday.

On Sunday at the UWC Stadium in Cape Town, the Brazilians defeated Vasco da Gama Ladies 4-0 with a strong performance.

This victory allowed Banyana Ba Style to extend their advantage at the top of the Hollywoodbets Super League to 61 points, thanks to 20 wins in 23 games. The Brazilians’ defense is the finest in the league, conceding just 11 goals while scoring 92 goals.

Rhoda Mulaudzi was effusive in her admiration for the team’s successful travel to Cape Town following Sunday’s 4-0 victory.

“We are thrilled with our performance in the Mother City. The first match against Vasco da Gama Ladies proved to be quite difficult, so we had to improve our play in the second match to get the desired outcome. “These matches are preparing us for the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League, as we are fully aware that there will be no easy games in Morocco,” Rhoda said.

Prior to the match against the Free State-based club, Coach Jerry ‘Kappa’ Tshabalala urged his squad to be patient when facing difficult opposition.

“We must build properly from the back against teams with a low defensive block. We will struggle to convert our opportunities if we are in a state of panic; therefore, we must be patient even if we are not scoring as many goals as we would want. We anticipate a very difficult matchup and are fully prepared to leave everything on the field,” said Kappa.

The Brazilians have relished recent contests versus Tsunami Queens. Earlier in the season, Sundowns Ladies defeated their opponents 7-0 with goals from Boitumelo Rabale, Melinda Kgadiete, Chantelle Esau, Lelona Daweti, and Thalea Smidt.

The Brazilians scored 15 goals against their opponents last season, winning 8-0 on the road and 7-0 at home.

The match between Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and Tsunami Queens will take place at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. The contest will commence at 15:00.
