Juliet Harding, the lead singer of GoodLuck, spoke with IOL Entertainment about the band’s enthusiasm for the highly anticipated “Get Lucky Summer” tour.
The band, composed of Harding, Ben Peters, and Tim Welsh, has performed at hundreds of South African music festivals.
Harding, however, says that nothing compares to the sensation of staging one’s own music festival.
“We are thrilled to announce that we have so much going on. Our holiday season is largely determined by the fact that we host our own concerts and festivals every year. We throw these massive parties from Cape Town to Plettenberg Bay and in all coastal resort communities.
“This year, after Covid, we will return with a bang. On December 11, there will be a massive event in Cape Town titled “Get Lucky Summer.” We have a large number of talented artists joining us.”
“We’ll be visiting Cape Town, Hermanus, and Plettenberg Bay. Additionally, we organize a three-day New Year’s Eve festival from Friday to Sunday.
“The only destination we will not visit is Johannesburg because nobody is there in December.”
“Plettenberg is my preferred location. This is where we began our residency. We began on the beach with several hundred individuals. Each New Year’s Eve, seven seven thousand people attend our event.”
I hold a special place in my heart for Plext.
Harding discusses her health improvement following breast reduction and sinus surgery.
“I’m good. My sinus is okay. Sinusitis is a constant battle, but it’s getting better. I was fairly public about my breast reduction, so everyone is aware of it. This has been a gift from God, since I no longer have back discomfort, thus I am glad and blessed.
“I continue to receive communications from folks who are unable to obtain assistance. We never succeeded in utilizing medicinal assistance to make breast reduction procedures advantageous. Unfortunately, we were unable to have that discussion.
“Three months later, Covid hit, so everyone’s focus shifted to that, but there is still an awareness that women’s bodies are different from men’s and require distinct treatment.
The mission continues, and we continue to advocate for a change in medical aids policy.
