86-year-old electric bike rider dies in Perth hit-and-run

While riding an electric bicycle in Perth early in the morning, an elderly man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run.

At about 4.50am on Sunday, the 86-year-old was traveling down the Mitchell Freeway at Kingsley in the city’s north when he collided with an SUV close to the Hepburn Avenue exit.

The motorist fled the scene without stopping, and the car is thought to be a silver Mitsubishi 4WD.

The elderly man was seriously hurt and passed away on the spot.

The automobile involved would have considerable front end damage, notably on the left-hand passenger side, according to police, who are looking for the driver.
