After their six-month-old son passed away, a mother of eight and her boyfriend have been accused of maltreatment.

Two days after their baby died, Maraea Te Oke Mae Hunia, 31, and her boyfriend Jahley Poata, 30, appeared before the Perth Magistrates Court on Friday.

Between June 1 and September 27, the court was informed that the pair reportedly neglected to provide the infant with the required medical, corrective, and therapeutic treatment.

The kid, also known as Jahley Poata, passed away on Wednesday at Perth’s Children’s Hospital after being moved there from their neighborhood hospital.

According to police, according to The West Australian, “the infant was admitted to Collie Hospital on September 26 and owing to his condition was moved to Perth Children’s Hospital.”

Neither parent appeared in court on Friday and just spoke to confirm their identities.

On Tuesday, they’ll be in before court once again.

As a “glamour model,” Ms. Hunia has over 3,000 TikTok subscribers and 7,400 Instagram followers.

She claimed to be a model for the Japanese apparel company Maneki Meow and the Kiwi clothing brand Marley The Label, and she publishes photos of herself wearing various ensembles.

In addition to being a skin care consultant for the Monat brand, Ms. Hunia claimed to be an authority in beauty and hair.
