An 11-year-old boy is struggling for his life after being struck by a double-decker bus while heading to school

After being struck about 8 a.m. yesterday in South London, the 11-year-old was severely injured.

‘Officers were alerted at 8.13am on Tuesday, October 4, to reports of an accident involving a bus and a pedestrian in Norwood Road, SE27,’ said a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman.

‘The London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also responded, and the pedestrian, an 11-year-old boy, was brought to hospital, where he is still in serious condition,’ said the statement.

Officers also stated that the boy’s next of kin have been notified.

According to the Met, the bus driver stopped at the site and is aiding police with their investigation.

There have been no arrests.
