Watt’s “heart was shocked back into beat”

J.J. Watt, a defensive end for the Arizona Cardinals, said through Twitter that he will be participating on Sunday despite having “had my heart shocked back into rhythm” after developing atrial fibrillation the previous week.

A few hours before the Arizona Cardinals’ game against the Carolina Panthers, Watt sent the following tweet.

Watts tweeted on Sunday, “I just learned someone leaked some personal information about me and it’s going to be published on today.” “I had my heart shocked back into rhythm on Thursday after going into A-Fib on Wednesday, and I’m playing today. I’m done now.”

According to a recent NFL injury report released on Wednesday, the day Watt claimed he had atrial fibrillation, Watt was recently labeled as doubtful for Sunday’s game due to a calf ailment.

Atrial fibrillation is “an irregular and often extremely fast heart rhythm that may cause blood clots in the heart,” according to the Mayo Clinic. According to the Mayo Clinic, atrial fibrillation raises your risk of having a stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related issues.
