After a stray dog was caught on video trying to steal two stuffed animals, including a teddy bear, a stuffed animal shop in the southeastern Brazilian state of So Paulo has increased its security danger level.

On Monday, a four-legged animal entered a business in the city of Tabatinga and was caught on video making a hilariously audacious effort.

Pacato, as he is called by area residents, can be seen on security footage trotting inside the shop and carrying a dog-shaped plush toy towards the exit, where it collided with the corner of the exit.

Instead of returning to get it, the Pacato left the shop and returned seconds later with another stray dog.

Pacato tried to steal a teddy bear from the shop, but he gave up and escaped before he could be caught.

The proprietor of the business, Marcos Soler, told the Brazilian news outlet G1 that he was alerted to the attempted theft by a client who had just entered the store.

Pacato’s attempted robbery of his company left him unsure of what to believe until he and his crew checked the security footage and were “very surprised.”

According to Soler, this was not the first time a stray dog from the area has struck the business.

The sole difference was that the other dog “caught an even smaller pet (toy) and ended up taking it away.”

Soler made light of the situation by designing a wanted poster for Pacato.

Soler said, “Our store has its doors open, and we even think it’s cute for the dog to take the pet.  Too bad he couldn’t find a companion to sleep on the cold night. Let’s wait for new episodes.”
