Before the September international break, Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos selected a 23-man roster that included four Orlando Pirates players.

At the end of the month, South Africa has two friendly matches scheduled where they will play both neighbouring Botswana and Sierra Leone.

Before the matches, the Belgian coach summoned up the Bucs’ four of Innocent Maela, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Goodman Mosele, and Zakhele Lepasa.

The team that was announced before to Bafana’s last competitive match, an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Morocco, kept captain Maela and Goodman Mosele, both of whom had previously visited the North African nation in June.

Sibisi, who last represented his country in a friendly match against the current world champions France in March of this year, now gets the chance to add to his three international appearances.

Lepasa, who last played for his country’s senior team in the 2019 COSAFA Cup, has also been called up in recognition of his recent success.

After his recent exploits for the Buccaneers, where he scored twice against TS Galaxy earlier this month, he has been called back to the team.

On September 24, Bafana Bafana will play Sierra Leone at FNB Stadium before welcoming Botswana three days later. The kickoff timings will be determined later.
