Iva Jantjies, the wife of Elton Jantjies, has criticized the Springbok management team for its stance about her husband’s behavior.

According to reports, Bok flyhalf Elton is involved in an alleged affair with Springbok dietitian Zeenat Simjee. Both have been ordered home from Argentina after news of their extremely public connection in Nelspruit prior to the Rugby Championship match against the All Blacks last month broke on Sunday.

“No team protocols were violated, but the people are returning to South Africa to address to these personal reports and avoid distractions from the team’s preparations for the Test against Argentina,” is the sole statement made by Bok management to date.

Iva, conversely, stated in an interview with News24, “This is really disturbing for all the Springbok spouses, as none of us were aware that this behavior does not violate any regulations and is treated so casually.”

It is quite disheartening for a World Cup-winning management team to allow such issues to arise within the team environment.

Iva confirmed that she is currently in contact with Elton.

“We are constantly in conversation. He is quite disheartened. I believe it’s also beneficial for him to separate himself from the Bok squad and process everything, as stated by Iva.

The Boks are ready for Saturday’s Rugby Championship match against Argentina in Buenos Aires.

On Thursday, New Zealand and Australia will meet in Melbourne, so the Boks will know if they have a chance to lead the Rugby Championship rankings. New Zealand lead after four rounds with 10 points, followed by South Africa, Australia, and Argentina with nine points each.
