19-year-old Brazilian lady had twins with different dads

After engaging in sexual activity with two men on the same day, a Brazilian lady claims to have given birth to twins with separate dads.

The 19-year-old, who desired to remain nameless and is from Minerios in Goias, Brazil, stated that she did a paternity test to determine who the father was.

After eight months, she had begun to question who the father was, so she made the decision to get the test done.

The 19-year-old said that she gathered DNA from the man she believed to be the twins’ father, but that only one of the twins tested positively after two tests.

She stated that once he did the test, it was conclusive that he was the father of the second twin because she realised she had intercourse with a different guy on the same day.

Scientifically speaking, the phenomenon is known as heteroparental superfecundation.

According to her doctor, Tulio Jorge Franco, when two eggs from the same mother are fertilised by separate men, it is feasible for this to occur. Although the infants develop in several placentas, they share the mother’s genetic makeup.

He emphasised the rarity of the case, calling it a “one in a million” circumstance, and said he didn’t expect to see another one like it in his lifetime.

There are allegedly just 20 such instances of this happening in the whole globe.

The kids are already 16 months old, according to local media, although Dr. Franco just discussed the matter this week.

One of the dads now takes care of both kids, supporting their mother.
