Johannesburg – Former Bafana Bafana footballer Steven Pienaar confirmed on Wednesday that he had obtained the famous Uefa Pro Licence, marking another another significant step in his coaching career.
The former Everton man highlighted this newest accomplishment on social media and expressed his delight at obtaining this accreditation, which allows him to coach anywhere in the globe.

The announcement of Pienaar’s latest achievement occurs in the midst of a very prosperous month or two for South Africans.

Former Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane obtained his Caf Pro Licence (similar to the Uefa Pro Licence), and Benni McCarthy landed a coaching position with English powerhouse Manchester United.
In 2018, the 40-year-old began his coaching career at the Ajax Amsterdam Academy, the same academy from which he graduated as a professional player in the early 2000s.
In 2019, he had a brief stint with SV Robinhood (also in the Netherlands), but he has since returned to Ajax and is currently an assistant coach for their Under-18s.
Schillo, as he was popularly called among his contemporaries, is one of the most accomplished South African football players of all time.
When he built a name for himself in the most prestigious league in the world, his adaptability and football intelligence got him positions with Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham Hotspurs, Sunderland (all England), and Everton.
