Australia’s Covid isolation period is REDUCED from seven to five days, and airline masks are NO LONGER REQUIRED, the Prime Minister has said.

Australia will lower its mandated Covid isolation period from seven to five days, and masks will no longer be required on airlines, according to an announcement by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

On Wednesday, the national cabinet agreed to reduce isolation time for Covid patients with no symptoms.

There are exceptions to the general norm. Patients with symptoms have been instructed to remain at home, and personnel in “high risk” areas such as elderly, disability, and home care will be required to remain at home for a full week.

The modification will become effective on Friday, September 9.

Payments for pandemic leave will continue for the duration of the five-day period.

On the same date, domestic flights will no longer require masks.
