The music business is still recovering from the effects of the 28th South African Music Awards (Samas).

Several artists have made public statements regarding the winners and losers since the awards ceremony.

It is difficult to forget how Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha responded in 2017 when they felt snubbed at the #SAMAs23.

Big personalities in the amapiano industry were absent from this year’s ceremony, since many are busy expanding the dance style around the globe. All of the following artists are on international tours: DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small, Uncle Waffles, Daliwonga, DBN Gogo, Young Stunta, and Focalisitic.

Lady Du, one of the best female vocalists in yano, was also absent. Lady Du attacked the Samas despite not submitting her music for consideration by the judging committee.

Lady Du questioned in multiple tweets how Musa Keys won record of the year for “Vula Mlomo” featuring Sir Trill and Nobantu Vilakazi.

“How does a person who organizes artists to perform on stage get the highest prize of the night for the artist he manages?” she demanded.

Do you know why many of us did not visit or perform there? Because we already knew who would receive what! The scheme was too transparent. Stay woke niyeke ukus yenza amabari!
Mina I do not maintain silence since I do not work for those who control my brand! I’m independent. 🙏

The Tecno record of the year was selected by public polls, yet Musa Keys’ victory was still met with controversy.

Lady Du urged the audience to “remain awake” as she revealed why she and other artists chose to boycott the awards.

“Do you know why the majority of us did not go or even perform there? Because we already knew who would receive what! The scheme was too transparent. Stay woke niyeke ukus yenza amabari!” she tweeted.

The “Umsebenzi Wethu” singer also criticized Musa Keys for failing to acknowledge his collaborators during his award speech.

“Neither Nobantu nor Sir Trill were mentioned in a speech where they were expected to be!”

Nobantu and Sir Trill were not mentioned at all in a speech where they were expected to be!

Sipinde siya thula futhi!!!

Mina ngeke!!!

Yet they created that tune!

Musa Keys, who is currently in a state of euphoria after winning his first Sama, just posted a message to his fans and following to avoid the politics of the music industry and to instead concentrate on hard work.

“I’ll say it again … Stay away from politics and workplace turmoil, and work hardaaa single day; anything you work hard for will work for you; take care of your work, and it will take care of you as well. “On Twitter,” he wrote.

I’ll tell it again…
