Teenage girl accused of stabbing a classmate in Orange, New South Wales, has been apprehended and charged.

A 15-year-old girl has been charged after allegedly stabbing a classmate at a regional New South Wales school.

Canobolas Rural Technology High School in Orange was locked down on Monday afternoon after a student, 16, suffered stab wounds to her chest and arm.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Orange Health Service in a non-life-threatening condition.

NSW Police confirmed the teenage alleged assailant has been charged with reckless wounding and was refused bail. She will face a children’s court on Tuesday.

Canobolas Rural Technology High School in Orange was locked down on Monday after a 16-year-old girl was allegedly stabbed by another classmate

On Monday, Canobolas Rural Technology High School in Orange was closed down after the suspected stabbing of a 16-year-old student by a fellow classmate.

After the girl was reportedly assaulted, emergency personnel flocked to Canobolas Rural Technology High at approximately 1pm on Monday.

No caregivers had been notified about the event, a worried father of a Canobolas Rural Tech High pupil told the Daily Telegraph.

I’m extremely disappointed because they didn’t even tell me; I had to find out via my kid and (Facebook).

While the school was closed, Central West Police District officers patrolled the area, and on Tuesday morning, NSW Police issued a second statement on the event.

Emergency services rushed to Canobolas Rural Technology High at around 1pm on Monday after the girl was allegedly attacked

Around 1pm on Monday, emergency personnel arrived to Canobolas Rural Technology High, where the girl had reportedly been assaulted.

According to a spokeswoman, “Officers from the Central West Police District responded and discovered a 16-year-old female suffering from knife wounds to her chest and arm.”

She received on-site care from paramedics from NSW Ambulance before being transported to Orange Health Service to receive non-life-threatening injury treatment.

“A crime scene was formed, and an inquiry into the incident’s circumstances got under way.”

“A 15-year-old girl was escorted to Orange Police Station after being apprehended at the spot.”

Tuesday, she will appear in court.
